Mythology

In Greek mythology, Poseidon / Neptune was the god of the sea, as well as of horses, and, as "Earth-Shaker," of earthquakes. The name of the sea-god Nethuns in Etruscan was adopted in Latin for Neptune in Roman mythology; both were sea gods analogous to Poseidon.

Poseidon was given a trident during the war of the Titans and the gods. After the war the gods divided the earth among themselves by drawing lots. Zeus took the sky, Poseidon took the sea, and Hades took the underworld.

From recreational holiday diving to technical diving, both warm water and cold water and from beginner to instructor courses Dive Now has something for everyone.

The Dive Now Gloucester Scuba Club is open to scuba divers of all levels and all training organisations. PADI, BSAC, SDI, Naui all have one thing in common, they teach people how to explore the underwater world. With 70% of the earth's surface covered by water it is amazing so few of us venture below the surface. It is the last unexplored frontier.

At Dive Now's Gloucestershire Scuba Club we are all about learning to dive safe and explore dive sites here in the UK and abroad at destinations like Malta, Egypt, Italy and beyond.

Our members have diving experiences from all over the world and regularly plan adventures that you would be welcome to join. From diving Cleopatra's palace and Alexandria's Pharaohs Light House (one of the ancient 7 wonders of the earth) to dives around the shipwrecks of the South Coast. From Cold inland quarries to tropical waters of the south pacific, there is something for everyone to enjoy from beginner to experienced diver, with the Dive Now Gloucester Scuba Club.
